A small analysis on NTFS Volume corruption and tips to Undelete Windows Files

NTFS or (New Technology File System) is particularly known for its high performance and improved file-level security. Features like file encryption, compression, and auditing have made it a popular choice among the Windows users. It is generally used with large volumes and also incorporates various transaction logging techniques useful for maintaining the integrity of volume data. But NTFS based volumes usually get corrupt due to reasons like virus attacks, power surges, human errors etc.

There may be other reasons for corruption as well. The major ones are listed below-
• Hard disk corruption
• File system damage
• Problems with SCSI or IDE drivers

This would make all the hard drive data inaccessible. You can use a backup to restore all the lost or inaccessible data. However, if the backup is missing, you should follow the below given resolution steps to undelete files.

Try these steps to resolve the problem-
• Examine the error message carefully and try to find its real cause.
• Determine which driver or device is causing problem by checking error messages in the Event viewer.
• Stop all the anti-virus and backup programs currently running in your system.
• Use 'chkdsk /r' command to fix file system corruption.

If the problem still persists, you should take help of an efficient undelete software. These software safely recover all the files, documents, emails, photos, videos etc. from your Windows-based system in any instance of data loss. They have an in-built 'auto-update feature' that helps you install all the latest software updates. They incorporate many other useful features, such as resume recovery, file preview, drive status, recovery based on file types etc
