to store their valuable data. In the past time, Users have only 50 MB to 1 GB of hard disk to

This is the most important part of the HDD that enables the logical data which in the form of
bits, to be written over platter in the form of magnetic pulses and vice versa. While reading
the data from the platter. R/W Head can perform both the operation concurrently in some
modern hard disks.
Tracks and Sectors
Each platter is the combination of thousands of concentric circles, called tracks and each tracks
are broken into thousands of pieces, called sectors. Each sector can contain upto 512 bytes of
data. Often the combination of sectors is known as clusters in the hard disk.

Ways to Improve Hard Disk Performance

Each hard disk becomes older as the time pasts and start to respond slowly and can even fail

• Heated to peak point for using maximum resources that cause hard disk to crash,
• Failure of spindle motor which causes platter to spin and
